Speedy carbonara

Instructions

1 Step

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving a little of the cooking water.

2 Step

Meanwhile, heat a large pan over a medium-high heat and cook the bacon pieces for 6-8 minutes until golden-brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove the bacon to a plate lined with kitchen paper, leaving the drippings in the pan.

3 Step

Turn the heat to medium and add the garlic to the pan, stirring for one minute. Add the milk, cream cheese and butter and stir until smooth.

4 Step

Stir in the Parmesan and bacon and cook for 3-4 minutes until everything is heated through. Add the spaghetti and stir to coat, adding a splash of the cooking water if needed to loosen the sauce. Serve immediately.

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 280 ml milk
  • 230 g Philadelphia Light with Chives, cubed
  • 80 g butter, softened
  • 60 g parmesan, grated
